HIGH ALERT: VERY LENGTHY POST.
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WHO DON’T EVEN GIVE A RAT’S BEHIND ABOUT THE SOCIETY
OR LIFE!
First of all, Pak would like to
thank Pam for setting up the trains of thought in the direction that has made
me write this blogpost. Thanks a ton!
Human mind is a very amazing
thing and that is very well evident if you look back and think logically about
how we have evolved and how we have built things around us. When there was only
one Kingdom, called the Kingdom Planate dominating all the land and water
resources, the bacteria and single cell organism evolved to an extent to
produce what is called as the Kingdom Animalia (Well, if you think that God
created human beings, so be it. But we are not discussing theism and atheism
here, and contradicting this statement based on present day science, I believe
in GOD. Well, that is a different issue to talk about altogether!). Coming back
to what I wanted to say, the animals then lived happily in the jungles,
depending on the plants for food all the time. Later, those animals that eat
other animals evolved out of them and there it goes, most of us now know the
food chain already (being taught in EVS classes in childhood!). But even that
is not the point. See, it is evident from the fact that the human mind is able
to interlink things and hence divert to a lot of other topics from one and that
is why it is amazing. There are so many abstract concepts that have been
incepted by the human minds and whole new imaginary worlds have been created
and integrated into the real and physical world. Take for instance the concept
of Politics, Boundaries, Languages, Economics, etc.; there are so many of them
of which the main topics of discussion here in this post would be Economics and
Politics (Core interests of NBSS).
Let us get very much humanitarian
as of now, let us all flock together as starlings for a few moments. We are all
human beings. Why should we have boundaries and discriminations? Why cannot we
share everything equally? Why cannot we respect each other as human beings when
after all we are dependent on each other? World would definitely be a lovely
place to live in. You can go wherever you want without Visa, passport and the
most important thing would be that there would be no ECONOMICS!!! If you think
deeply into being one single group, what would happen to the abstract concept
of ECONOMICS and all those who are working and Studying Economics for a
livelihood? We need not worry about dollar rising or rupee falling. We need not
even worry about prices, for we would have equal rights on anything and
everything that is found on the earth as a resource. Anything that is found
will then have to be divided into seven hundred billion shares and distributed
worldwide. There would be no competition, no theft, and no greed (if at all
they surface, they would be met with justice immediately). There would not be a
need for people to launch themselves towards development. Even when you are
studying, you separate, classify and then study things to take it in and
because of the structure of the classifications, you tend to retain and
understand concepts better. When everything is available, when there is no
competition at all, we would all stand still, knowing not what to do! There
would be no history, no invasions, no stories to tell, no purpose to live. We
would all survive like the rest of the animals. We would work only when we are
in need of something. Life would be so boring. How many of you graduates miss
your college life? How many of you college people miss your school life? You
loved those periods because you had so much to do and you had so many people to
compete with. (Again putting stress on the kids, thrusting too much to study is
a different topic and let us not deviate into that either!). Even if you went
to school, you would not have a subject called History, geography or civics or
Economics! All of us would have done Science!!! To think of that, could that
have been fun if at all that was the way the world went right now? So, the
essence of the entire paragraph is that, there would be so much less to do and
to think of in this world if we all shared everything. But believe me; too much
of anything is as bad as having a share on everything and that is what I will
tell you about.
It is good to have about 400 odd
countries competing with each other for resources actually. Only because of
that race, every country and every single man is trying to add something as a
contribution to the human society. An International patent might keep someone
in the chair of monopoly for a maximum of twenty years. After that, when the
patent is released, it is an opportunity for all the others to work on the patent
more and make it much better, get a patent and get benefited. In that way,
there is a need and as we all know, need is the mother of all creations. But
need should never be a greed. There are exceptions too. If there is some item
of luxury that gets patented, the patent owner can be greedy enough to sell at
very high prices but if something as useful as a lifesaving drug should not be
sold at a higher price and that is why they are excluded from patenting. In a
recent press release that says that India would launch generic-medicine for all
schemes very soon widely, it has been told that certain important lifesaving
drugs and cancer treatment drugs that have indeed been patented have been
infringed by the government itself to allow cheaper and much effective variants
of the drugs to be made available in the market. If not for those moves, we
would not have Metformin Hydrochloride tablets selling at less than one rupee
per tablet and help even the poor to control their blood sugar levels. Well
that is the sharing that we have facilitated. Now, the competition for the
pharma companies is to strike a balance between marketing and selling cost of
their products in the market. This will lead to the evolution of effective
marketing strategies. If there was no competition at all, every farmer would
grow all the fruits, vegetables and grains that his family would need in the
land that he or she has and be happy with that. There would not be concepts
like integrated farming, overproduce and export at all. Would not that be a
mess?
It is true that Dr. MMS headed
(so called) Indian government has decided to donate 10 billion dollars for the
strengthening of the shattered Eurozone because our economy is dependent on it.
This is called advanced development tactics. When you are in a battle for
improvement where you want to raise your standards when compared to the
competition, making your competition stronger is the wisest move you could
make. If all your competition dies out, the development standards would come
down and in fact, there would be nothing called as a standard. So, increasing
the strength of your opponent would let your people work more and overcome the
newly set standards. This is called “help and get helped in return” and this
could go beyond no more.
Imagine a long twine you have.
You made unnecessary knots between the ends of the thread. While making knots,
it was an interesting process. But now, when you do not want the knots, the
simplest solution is to directly cut away the region that is knotted. But to
rejoin the two pieces of the thread, forming a single piece, you have no other
choice but to knot them both together again but you will have a shorter thread.
There is yet another option; you remove the knots one by one slowly in the
reverse order to get the entire length of thread without the knots. So, the
process of integrating all nations into one sharing unit can be compared to
this. Every knot is a system of classification and segregation that we have
been making and hence we must go step by step, bringing about equality in the
society. We must integrate all the castes within a religion first. Then we
should integrate the religions, then the region, then the country. At the
maximum only so much knots can be removed, for when we do that, we would have
equidistant knots, making the entire length of simple and regular thread look
more like a necklace!
So, integrating the nation itself
is a HERCULEAN task that would take at least another generation (33 years) to
complete and that is the most we could achieve without collapsing the systems
that we have built. Nations can provide the necessary and sufficient
competition for development.
In fact, the idea of all Human
beings flocking together is racism in one way. Due to our activities, there are
so many species of plants and animals vanishing from the face of the earth! We
should not have cell phones, for those towers harm the birds, we should not
build houses and live under tree shades, for we are clearing forests the home
for several animals….the list can go on. Everything has its own limitations but
we could only come to a quasi-state where things are feasible and at the same
time good for us. Human beings are born with selfishness and a brain that
evaluates and classifies things immediately and hence we cannot live without
it. Such concepts can only be printed and not followed!
Awaiting debates and comments!
If all the bees were to die, life would end on earth; if all the humans were to die, life would flourish!
